Gate.io applies for VASP license in Hong Kong

AskFX had reported that Gate Group, owner of cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io, had applied for regulatory approval from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong. The company is seeking a Virtual Asset Service Provider license to enable trading in non-security tokens. It also plans to apply for securities trading and automated trading licenses from the Securities and Futures Commission.

Gate.io has obtained a Trust and Corporate Service Provider License to meet Hong Kong licensing standards. To increase customer trust and contribute to the growth of the Web3 ecosystem, Gate.io emphasizes high security and regulatory standards.
