BUX appoints new Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. Nontya MTSHAULANA, a member of the Board of Directors of Dutch neobroker BUX, owned by ABN AMRO, has been appointed Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. Mtshaulana will take up her new role on September 1, 2024. She will be responsible for the firm’s legal and compliance efforts, as well as practices that protect the interests of stakeholders and clients.
Patrick Strobel, Chief Technology Officer of London Stock Exchange Group, joins LCH. Patrick Strobel has been appointed Chief Technology Officer of the London Stock Exchange Group in the UK. Global clearing house LCH has been acquired by LSEG. Strobel is Head of SwapClear & Regulatory Reporting Technology at LSEG. He has been there for more than three years.
SparkMarkets CEO Lubomir Kaneti takes over from FXDD’s COO Lubomir Kantei is the new CEO of SparkMarkets. Lubomir Kaneti has announced that he will become CEO of SparkMarkets. This company specializes in SAAS trading technology and services. SparkMarkets offers a range of products including brokerage packages and web and mobile trading platforms. It also offers ERP/BO, CRM and CRM solutions as well as crypto and fiat payment integrations and AI solutions for customer engagement.
Tomas Ausra appointed as IG Group’s new Head of Marketing. Tomas Ausra, IG Group’s Global Institutional Marketing Manager, has been promoted to Head of Marketing. Ausra will lead the group’s brand marketing activities worldwide. He served as IG Group’s Global Institutional Market Manger for nearly five years. Lubomir Kantei, Chief Technology Officer at SparkMarkets, has taken the helm. Clear Street has been appointed the group’s new Head of Marketing. Tomas Ausra previously held the role. CME Group has appointed Mike Dennis, former president of CBOE, as president. The former IG Group CFO takes the helm as executive director of CFO BMS.
Another leadership change is the promotion of Ben Gagnon to CEO of Bitfarms. Former BDSwiss MENA CEO Daniel Takieddine has launched a new brokerage. Trent Hoerr, who previously served as CEO for FPFX, now heads BullRush. A former Instinet executive is moving to Liquidnet to increase cross-border trading. Pepperstone CMO Tony Gruebner is retiring after a four-year tenure.

Mtshaulana will take up her new role on September 1, 2024. Mtshaulana, a neobroker from South Africa, will join BUX following a recent acquisition by ABN AMRO. She has worked for ABN AMRO for almost eight years and is currently Program Manager for Sustainable Finance Regulations. Mtshaulana has over 15 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant, CFA Charterholder and Chartered Accountant.

Patrick Strobel has been appointed Chief Technology Officer of the London Stock Exchange Group in the UK. Global clearing house LCH has been acquired by LSEG. Strobel is Head of SwapClear & Regulatory Reporting Technology at LSEG. He has been there for over three years.
Strobel will continue to serve as Head of Securities Technology and UnaVista for LSEG until 2022. In the past, this experienced executive worked for major industry brands such as Liquidnet and Deutsche Bank. He spent more than three full years at Liquidnet. He rose from Head of Technology in EMEA to Chief Technology Officer. He also served at Deutsche Bank as Vice President of European Heads of Equity Trading Analytics and then as Director.

Lubomir Kaneti has announced that he will become CEO of SparkMarkets. This company is a leader in SAAS trading technology and services. Tomas Ausra, IG Group’s Global Institutional Marketing Manager, has been promoted to Head of Marketing. Ausra will lead the group’s brand marketing activities worldwide. He served as IG Group’s Global Institutional Market Manager for nearly five years. He will be responsible for driving brand awareness, developing marketing strategies and driving profits.
Ausra has extensive experience in marketing and has worked for a number of industry-leading brands. Previously, he was Acquisitions Digital Market Executive at Euromoney Institutional Investor. The Lancaster University graduate has worked at Procurement Leaders, Delve and other companies.

Edward Tilly, former CEO of CBOE, is appointed President of Clear Street
Edward Tilly, the President of Clear Street, an innovative financial technology company focused on modernizing brokerage, has been appointed. Tilly was appointed President of Clear Street after serving as Chief Executive Officer of CBOE Global Markets for a decade, during which time he increased market capitalization by $2.0 billion to $18.0 billion.
Edward Tilly’s experience in managing a publicly traded company and his successful leadership at CBOE, including initiatives such as the acquisition of BATS Global Markets in 2017 and the launch of financial products such as zero-days-to-expiration options, will be invaluable as he works closely with Chris Pento, CEO of Clear Street, to guide the company through its growth phase.

CME Group Appoints Mike Dennis as Global Head Fixed Income
Mike Dennis has been appointed as Global Head Fixed Income of CME Group as part of the company’s efforts to bolster its rates business. Dennis, who has extensive experience in trading and clearing, is set to start in his new role on 5 August. He will report directly to Terry Duffy, Chairman and CEO of CME Group.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mike Dennis to our leadership team. His extensive industry experience will be an asset in managing our growing and significant rates business, which saw a 14% growth in the second quarter,” said Duffy. “Mike’s trading, clearing, and prime brokerage experience will benefit both our clients and our organization.”

Former IG Group CFO Charlie Rozes takes on Executive Director and CFO role at BMS
Charlie Rozes, currently based in London, will assume the position of Executive Director and CFO at BMS Group. Rozes will report directly to BMS Group CEO Nick Cook, succeeding Nick Moss, who is retiring from the company.
Rozes, who previously served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Executive Board at IG Group, is credited with leading strategic initiatives that transformed IG Group into a global online multi-asset class trading platform and digital content provider.

Ben Gagnon appointed as CEO of Bitfarms
Bitfarms, a cryptocurrency mining company, has named Ben Gagnon as its Chief Executive Officer. The move is significant as Bitfarms seeks to expand its operations beyond Bitcoin mining. Gagnon, previously the Chief Mining Officer, played a key role in Bitfarms’ growth in Bitcoin mining.
As CEO, Gagnon will lead Bitfarms’ expansion into energy generation, heat recovery, energy trading, and high-performance computing for artificial intelligence, leveraging his previous role as Chief Mining Officer.

His achievements include creating a YouTube channel and the Trade-Off Show, which is produced in three languages and four countries. He also oversaw the creation and launch of the Pepperstone Trading App. Gruebner mentioned three global campaigns with Saatchi & Saatchi NZ, including one with John McEnroe.
